Natural Born Learner 3

(Friday)

This week, we reminded ourselves how natural learning is—and how capable you are of learning new things.

From the moment you were born, you used your senses to learn about the world. Learning comes naturally—you are an effective learner by nature.

You’ve already learned how to speak and read a language, which is a major achievement. You did this without knowing grammar rules or vocabulary in advance.

So if you’re struggling with a subject right now or learning at a different pace than others, don’t let it discourage you. More importantly, don’t let it shake your confidence in your ability to learn. That confidence will matter even more as you move into the workplace.

Remember: you are, and always have been, a natural-born learner.

Look for ways to connect what you learn in school to potential careers, jobs, or industries you may pursue in the future.

What subjects in school might be useful or come in handy if you want to work as:

Connected learning combines personal interests, supportive relationships, and opportunities.

Self-directed learning is similar to connected learning in that both are driven by the learner. In both self-directed and connected learning, learners thrive and realize their full potential.

STEPS FOR CHANGE

Thought of the day.

A true teacher would never tell you what to do.

Never Forget

Always remember that you possess an exceptional brain and a powerful mind, which you can continue to strengthen through regular exercise. Reflect on the remarkable things your brain has already accomplished and how your innate curiosity continues to drive your learning of new subjects and skills that fascinate you.

Remember, successful individuals have a passion for learning. Are you passionate about something? Do you aspire to be successful? Successful people love to learn. Will you be successful?
